Mathias Offerlin Herup is a Danish self-taught artist who began what he calls his "artist adventure" in February 2024. He has drawn since he could hold a pen. The droopy faces in bold colour are how he looks at people standing near each other — in a queue, on a bus, on a phone — and still finds a joke worth sharing.

Herup’s practice is rooted in a lifetime of intuitive mark-making—"drawing since I could hold a pen"—yet distinguishes itself through its deliberate embrace of the mundane.
