Sarah Mari Shaboyan

Sarah Mari Shaboyan is an illustrator of Armenian origin, a nomadic habit still in the hand. Visual art, for her, is a bridge to whoever is looking. Pencils and markers; paper as a sincere, rhythmic street.

Her creations are far from mere drawings; each piece constitutes a miniature universe where chaos and order coexist, and the vibrancy of metropolitan life converges with visual tranquility. Shaboyan’s urban scenes emerge as sound and line together, where rhythm arises from apparent disorder. She brings the myriad elements of daily existence into a cohesive visual melody. Shaboyan’s preferred medium is colored pencils. Each picture opens a city and a story, and another room in the self. She wants future projects in Ancient Egypt and other remote, mysterious locales, without losing the sincerity of the line.
