About this Artist

Sarah Mari Shaboyan is an illustrator of Armenian origin, whose nomadic soul and global worldview inform her artistic practice. She perceives visual art as a universal language—a bridge connecting herself to the observer. Through pencils and markers, her tools of expression, paper transforms into narratives imbued with sincerity, rhythm, and harmony.

Her creations are far from mere drawings; each piece constitutes a miniature universe where chaos and order coexist, and the vibrancy of metropolitan life converges with visual tranquility. Shaboyan’s urban scenes emerge as symphonies of sound and line, where rhythm arises from apparent disorder. She orchestrates the myriad elements of daily existence into a cohesive visual melody. In her work, the density of cities is captured with buildings taking on rhythmic forms and bustling crowds appearing to dance. Her skill lies in rendering complexity into a fluid, immersive narrative, where every detail and color finds its precise place within the grand mosaic of the composition.

Shaboyan’s preferred medium is colored pencils. Each illustration serves as an invitation to explore new cities and stories, while also revealing new dimensions of the self. She envisions future projects depicting Ancient Egypt or other remote, mysterious locales, continuing to propagate her art and message of sincerity.

Sarah Mari Shaboyan exemplifies how art transcends boundaries, uniting worlds, emotions, and people. With a commitment to capturing life authentically, she achieves this magnificently, one line at a time.
